BREW GUIDES

1. THE HEART OF FILTER BREWING

Filter brewing celebrates clarity and balance.Instead of forcing water through coffee under pressure, you let it flow naturally. The result is smooth, sweet, and clean - the purest expression of the bean. There are many ways to brew. Each one brings its own rhythm and reward.

2. POUR-OVER

A simple ritual that rewards patience and attention.Use a V60, Kalita, or Chemex. Start by wetting the paper filter, add ground coffee, then pour slowly in gentle circles. Watch the bloom rise and settle as the aroma fills the air.

Recommended Ratio:

1 part coffee to 15 parts water (for example, 20 g coffee to 300 g water).

Grind Size:

Medium. It should feel like coarse sand.Result:A bright, delicate cup with clarity and balance.

3. FRENCH PRESS

Warm, round, and comforting.Add ground coffee to your French press, pour hot water, and let it steep before pressing down the plunger. The immersion creates a smooth, full-bodied cup with gentle sweetness.

Recommended Ratio:

1 part coffee to 15 parts water (for example, 25 g coffee to 375 g water).

Grind Size:

Coarse. Similar to rock salt.Result:A mellow, balanced cup with natural texture and calm sweetness.

4. DRIP COFFEE MACHINE

Filter brewing made simple. If you use a Moccamaster, Breville, or similar brewer, set your water temperature to around 93°C. Use medium ground coffee and a clean paper filter.

Recommended Ratio:

1 part coffee to 15 parts water (for example, 60 g coffee per liter of water).

Grind Size:

Medium. Slightly finer than for French press.

Result:A consistent, balanced cup that’s ready when you are.

5. THE WATER AND THE WAIT

Good water makes good coffee. Use filtered or soft water heated between 92°C and 96°C. Let the coffee cool for a minute before sipping - that’s when sweetness and character truly appear. This small pause is part of the ritual.

6. YOUR BREWING MINDSET

There’s no rush. No need for perfection. Brewing is a rhythm that fits into your day, not something to master overnight. When you focus on the pour, you find calm. When you taste the cup, you find clarity. That is the essence of Wu Coffee.
